Building a Contemporary Collection Across Physical and Digital Media.

Calyx is a private acquisition and online exhibition initiative focused on long-term cultural stewardship.

Fragmented Icons

Fragmented Icons presents a series of digitally constructed portraits that reframe contemporary and cinematic figures through fragmentation, repetition, and chromatic distortion. Working at the intersection of graphic design and visual art, the artist deconstructs familiar identities and rebuilds them through layered colour fields and symbolic disruption.

These works examine how public personas become mythologies — shaped by media, memory, and digital circulation. Through digital mixed media portraiture, faces become surfaces of tension between structure and collapse.

Launching 23 February 2026.

About
our company

Founded by artist and curator Chris Harshfield, the Calyx Foundation for Contemporary Artists exists to support artists at critical stages of their careers. Calyx operates with an artist first philosophy rooted in transparency, integrity, and long term thinking.

We provide curated exhibition opportunities designed to help artists sustain meaningful practices outside commercial pressure. Calyx does not charge application fees, does not operate pay to play programs, and does not take ownership or control of an artist’s work.

The name Calyx comes from the protective outer layer of a flower during early growth. It reflects our role: to support artists with care and professionalism while they build lasting practices.
